That's a wonderful family story and kind of an awesome "step-father's" day gift.

Will this go at the beginning of your book? Or more toward the middle? Because you are so ready to make a book. It’s gorgeous.

I am sitting with a glass of Sancerre with some Brie and crackers enjoying this beautiful piece about sweet peonies growing in "upstate" NY, a place I miss so much here in the suburbs of Chicago. I can feel the love and family names these blossoms recall. Along with the beautiful colors, I feel relaxed and wrapped in a bouquet of beautiful flowers. and memories. Thank you Liz for sharing these moments! Now on to Brooklyn...which I enjoy too.

Like music, flowers in the gardens of our mothers and grandmothers, leave lasting memories. For me, peonies are my late mother and iris are my angelic grandmother. The sweet and precious memories abound.

Thank you for sharing your family with us.

Love that. My daughter is a big fan of irises as as well. Something about a flower that only lasts a day or two really makes you treasure it.
