Another wonderful, thoughtful response, Liz. Personally, I’ve taken up knitting again ( no lessons from me this time😘). Connecting with friends in real time has also helped me even though texting is more “efficient”. Less is more….my new mantra. Thanks for once again being the voice of reason.

You DEFINITELY don't want me knitting, as you know! But IRL connections -- nothing beats that. (Certainly not doomscrolling)

One more coming -- we need to talk binge-watching! (And thanks, Rebecca. I miss it when I'm away too long.)

These reminders can never come often enough. Thank you for articulating “news” as opposed to “the news.” That’s so helpful.

I felt like “well-rested” was speaking directly to me! Doom scrolling gives as much as it takes. I follow too many accounts so the barrage of memes, news, cute animals, etc is too much. I took the weekend off from social media and it was good. I will try your advice about checking intentions as I scroll. Those minutes add up 😫

I miss Twitter lists, when I could just look at food, or humor, or politics as needed. I hope some of the other platforms can get us to that. At least I know what I’m getting here on Substack!
