Not a bourbon, but bourbon adjacent - I like Stranahan‘s Colorado Whiskey which my Colorado cousins insisted that I would like, even though I said I didn’t like brown liquor, and they were right. That led me to the Casamigos Añejo which is also not bourbon, but very similar flavor profile as the Stranahan‘s and makes me feel like a badass when I buy it.
My fave bourbon mixed drink I make at home is a good boozy 100 proof like Old Grandad, with fresh orange and lemon juices and rosemary simple syrup. Wiskey sour vibes, but w rosemary. Cheers! 🥃
I remember refusing to drink a bottle of wine that was over $200 because I didn't want it to manipulate my palate and make a $10 bottle beneath me... I can't imagine what would happen if I drank a bit of bourbon from a $2K bottle. RUINED. I'd be ruined. LOL
I’m laughing so hard at the idea of manipulating your palate. It makes perfect sense! But having had a few stupid fancy wines a few times in my life… I’m still perfectly happy with the house red. So who knows!
A Bourbon that is fantastic and tastes like you spent way more than you did, so much so that it will carve out a permanent space in your liquor cabinet and your friends will ask about it - Early Times Bottled in Bond. (https://www.earlytimesbottledinbond.com/)
Blanton’s is ridiculously tasty. And yes, the bottle is also delightful. Plus! Cute horsey stopper! 😀
Have to disagree with Booker’s though. It has a crazy high alcohol content and is a bit too “burn-y” for me. But if you like it, nothing wrong with that.
You just reminded me of how much my late dad enjoyed Four Roses Small Batch. I think I need to get some before the holiday season ends.
Aw 🥹 that’s a sweet thought. It’s always amazed me how smells and flavors are so connected to emotions and memories.

< furiously taking notes>
Oh god yes to Stranahan’s. I think k we have three different bottles here right now. And I gotta find that tequila; a good añejo is a delight.
I hope you and Jon enjoyed tasting.
We are waiting for you to join us for the Woodford!
Love me some Woodford Reserve!

ugh no edit function... *whiskey 🤦♀️
Honestly, rosemary simple syrup should be in more things. I will totally try this, thank you!
No Pappy VanWinkle? ;)

Granted I have ZERO proof this happens..... But is it really worth the risk? I THINK NOT.

Thanks, Tree! Considering I don’t drink all the time, it’s going to take me a while to get through all of these!
You are just complete luminous light. So happy we could hug on Friday.
The highlight of the morning and that is saying something because it was a pretty great morning! 🥰
