Thank you for this post. You are so good at putting words to concepts that are really hard to articulate, especially when so many emotions are involved.
Compassion for the victims is where everyone’s thoughts should go first. Those who have the need to rule never take into consideration the horrible consequences their decisions wreak upon innocent civilians.
YES! I don't know how to process this tragedy. I have Israeli family and friends. A new solider in our family is beginning his active duty as a medic. I have been so fortunate to be part of team of volunteers who have spent time in Arab villages in the north of Israel, living with host families and teaching in a unique summer camp. So Israeli Arabs are not the "other" for me. I am angry that the fault for this falls primarily with current Israeli government and its racist ministers. We need cool heads to find a way to bring home the hostages but I don't think this government is looking to be diplomatic. I hope Biden can work some magic even if the Republicans are trying to put the blame on him instead of standing as one as we did in 9/11. What a mess! Time for some yoga. Thanks for kicking off this conversation Liz.
This is so good!! You articulate what is on my heart so heavily. This should be widely circulated!!
Thank you Kris. It is public and free to share.
Your words are wise, kind, compassionate, and brave, Liz.

Thank you for saying what so many others believe. Your clarity is extraordinary.
This is so well written. Thank you.
Appreciate you always.
Thank you for this.
Thank you for writing this. It helps
I am listening, and yours is one of the voices I seek out. Thank you for these words.
Yes to all of this.
Plus: Americans live in a very delicate glass house. Be careful the approaches you endorse for an aggrieved people. We have a slew of them.
It is not anti-patriotic to examine how we got here (and it wasn't anti-patriotic after 9/11 either). And it is not pro-oppression to decry terrorism.
Thank you for this. So well stated. I've been struggling and this really helped.

Perfectly said. Thank you! You always have a way of saying what I'm thinking but in a much more articulate and elegant way.
