I'm still salty about no longer having Count Chocula. 😐

As if parents today wouldn't want a reference to CHOCOLATE in their kids' breakfast cereal. Sheesh.

It's still listed on the Good Humor site -- let's look for one!

Ooh, was that a thing? I was never a big root beer person but my kids are.

Yep, there used to be root beer and banana flavored popsicles, but they slipped out of favor, probably in the 80's

"Good Humor claims they discontinued The Toasted Almond because 'it was not popular around the country.'" What country would that be? Surely not this one. Isn't it protected by the Constitution or something?

Well, in fairness, most things that are important don’t seem to be protected by the constitution anymore.

This is horrible, terrible news. The toasted almond was ALWAYS my ice cream truck go-to growing up! Nothing else tastes like it. I mean, it doesn't taste remotely like almonds, but it is SO good! I remember seeing a box in the store for the first time a couple of years ago, and stupidly didn't buy it, because calories or something. I now deeply regret that decision. Maybe they'll do a special anniversary revival in a few years or something? We can only hope...

Facts -- If it had tasted like almonds I wouldn't have liked it as a kid.

Last time I had one was probably the pandemic summer when our ice cream truck was one "safe" place to grab a treat without going indoors. Sniff.

I still think how lucky we were that we had not one but TWO dueling ice cream trucks in elementary school, Hood and Good Humor. Hood always had the candy. But Good Humor had that hidden-chocolate-on-a-stick bar that was totally worth the $.05 upgrade.

When I ran the Little League concession, Toasted Almond always outsold Strawberry Shortcake. But the kids really wanted those gross SpongeBob pops with the gumball eyes.

Seriously it kills me when cosmetic companies change colors and formulas that didn't need changing. Like how many liquid eyeliners do I have to go through!!
