YES! Last night's BigDadEnergy fun on Threads totally took me back to the best of Twitter, and continued the trend of my actually feeling hope and joy when it comes to this presidential race.
And because I can't help myself, here were my BigDadEnergy contributions....
Tim Walz will definitely stop at your kids’ lemonade stand.
Tim Walz singlehandedly built the rotating barricade set for the high school production of Les Mis.
If you say “I’ve got a question” to Tim Walz, he’ll grin and say “I’ve got an answer. Let’s see if they go together.”
On a day that started with someone putting dog waste in my recycle bin and a non-paying client sending a sarcastic mean-spirited email, this reminds me why I believe people are inherently good. And they can be funny nicely! Thank you!
Such an inspirational night - loved every minute of it and it's so good to have that energy in the race! Feeling so inspired to lean in and help however I can!
I thought Bakari Sellers made a good point on CNN just now. He said that the way Walz pitches abortion rights will appeal to men, Walz's line is that the rule of thumb is not to judge what other people are doing, and to "Mind your own damn business". I think that makes a lot of sense. A lot of men don't know exactly how to step into this issue, and that way of framing it resonates.
100%. "Mind your own damn business" is the right line. Listen to the MSNBC analysis right after the speech - they discuss how he's finally explaining, in really, simple, non-wonky, very clear terms, what this Democratic ticket stands for, why they care, and how their policies make everyone's lives better.
Sorely needed. The flip side of that is that the people who speak in clear terms, like Walz does, are also often the people who listen better too. I think in general Harris is smashing it so far.
Threads was a glorious place to be yesterday (you're right - it had Twitter '06 energy). Harris and Walz are bringing the joy - and it's a pleasure to see so many people working to spread it around.
I've never cried happy tears for a candidate until now. Hope is making me weepy. Really, I just want a BigDadHug from him and I feel like he's giving that to all of us and I'm not letting go of that hug.

Love all of these! Be sure they're on Threads so we can all like and share!
The world needed that energy yesterday.
And the world needs Kamala and Tim 11/6.
🙏🙌
I could not love him more. I cannot stop smiling (except for when I am crying from the optimism and joy). We are not going back! LFG!
Best line. And yes to the crying.

This was seriously my joy fountain yesterday! Yay! And LOL about the Werther's Original one. #nailedit
Right? 😂

Formidable team!
Love these! My theory is writers developed Ted Lasso after hanging out with Tim!
Ha! I can see that. (I do think Tim has a little more bite to him, but may have the same feelings about tea.)
Good point! 🫖 But turns out Jay Kuo wrote an excellent piece on this! https://open.substack.com/pub/statuskuo/p/the-ted-lasso-veep?r=et85g&utm_medium=ios

We are all feeling it. Let's feel this more!

I have LOVED this and I realized how much I missed positive vibes on social. It's been so gloomy that this feels so refreshing! Loving it.
Hopescrolling can create a direct path to Joyscrolling! (But there's a lot of work we need to put in to get there...)
I’m so relieved to be happy 😀💙🗽👍😀
